hello

First off, we just want to express our gratitude for your prayers and support.  It's people like all of you who keep us going; even in the toughest times. We decided to start this blog as a way to communicate our thoughts, update you on the happenings, and to come before our friends and family in a completely vulnerable state.

We know that God has put us all here to share life together as a community of His people,

so that we can walk together through all stages of life and not alone.

In order to establish these relationships in life, one must be willing to put everything out on the table (good and bad).  It is this vulnerability that is the essence of doing life in community.  We all struggle with this because it goes against what society tells us to do... There is this unwritten expectation that we all need to throw on smiles and straight faces, never airing any dirty laundry, in fear that this will reveal weakness in our souls.  The hard part about this idea is that if we do not get past this facade, others may never know our struggles, and the healing process may never take place.

Our "dirty laundry:"  INFERTILITY

After 2 years of trying, numerous tests and procedures, and 4 unsucessful insemenation attempts, our reproductive doctor has suggested that the only way we may be able to conceive is through In Vitro Fertilization, a very costly and somewhat intense procedure.  Uncertain of what God has in store for us, we want to use this period of infertility as a way to grow in our marriage, grow in our relationship with the Lord, and to share with others the glory that God intends to reveal through all of this.  We know that He is in control, that His timing is perfect, and that He has given us an incredible desire to have children for a reason.

In the next few months, we plan on praying, waiting, and saving so that we can either conceive or adopt a child.  It is our hope that we can share our pain and excitement within our community and support others who struggle with life by reminding each other of the love of Jesus, and that with Him all hope is never lost.
